867 day of war

Hi, friends!

I just wanted to say that we are doing well. Yesterday, we returned from our trip and were very tired, having walked over 50 km in two days. Things didn't go as I expected, and we faced many challenges during the journey, but now everything is fine. Nastya's leg started hurting after the mountain hike, so now I'm trying to handle a bunch of tasks at home and work on my own, as well as cook meals.
We have a joke that after our vacations, we always need some time to rest )

Although we are physically exhausted, I feel better mentally. In the Carpathians, there are no air raid alarms, no missiles hitting the mountains, and you quickly forget there's a war going on. But we were reminded of it as soon as we returned to the city because there was a massive attack on the country, and several Russian missiles hit Okhmatdyt, the largest children's hospital. Today has been declared a day of mourning for the victims of this terrorist act.

You can get used to everything, even to war, but it's impossible to get used to the malice with which Russians choose their targets. In Kyiv, in other cities, and in Kharkiv, which is on the border with Russia, they mostly target civilian sites or power distribution stations. This really affects people, and just a day after I came back, I already feel the tension again. I realized that it's caused by the sound of the air raid alarms; hearing them day and night, even when you sleep, creates a physiological reaction. Without them, those few days were very peaceful.

It seems to me that Putin is trying to scare people or punish them for not being loyal to him. At first, he talked about "one people" or that those against their "liberation" were some nationalists. Now he understands that no one here is waiting for him, and he only wants the territory. He doesn't care how many people die or how many are forced to relocate. Everywhere will end up like Mariupol, where the local population significantly decreased: they either died during the fighting or moved elsewhere, and their place was taken by people from Russia's depressed regions who now consider themselves the owners of this territory and do whatever they want.

This is yet another terrorist act, as significant as Bucha, Borodyanka, or Mariupol. Okhmatdyt was the best hospital for cancer patients, with modern equipment, doctors, and an excellent reputation in the country. But now it is destroyed, many people have died, and even more are injured. I'm sure this is a war crime. What military targets necessary for the Russian army are in the center of Kyiv? They knew exactly where they were aiming, as these are high-precision missiles programmed for their target before launch. Why do they keep reminding us and the whole world that they are inhumane? How can there be realistic negotiations when this is happening? I can't understand this.

I would like to tell you more about the trip, but I don't have free time and am very tired. I'll try to do it in the next post. Thank you all for your support! For some reason, I always worry about imaginary reasons, but as an argument not to be afraid and to do something, I always remember the people who believe in me, and it gives me confidence. Thank you!
