Hello Blipfoto!

It was an exhausting weekend with my parents visiting, which called for a proper nap after they went home. We somehow found the energy to visit this food festival for dinner. We didn’t know it was happening until just a few hours before.

Dinner: Pav bhaji, Himalayan momos, mango lassi, and dance performances.

A few things I’d like to do with this new blog:

- New motherhood means that I have been completely absorbed in my personal world this past year. I don’t notice the beautiful details around me like I used to. I’m using this space to challenge myself to take photos of a greater variety of things. Of course I have thousands of photos of my family, but it’s time to flex a broader diversity of subjects.  

- my other goal is to write about the many new things that our toddler is doing every day. Time is moving so fast and I just want to remember it all. She’s 16 months old and learning so much! Today she surprised us both when she used the word “mine” for the first time to claim ownership of my husband’s mango lassi.

Her name is Mimi. My husband is Rayshawn, I am Marie, and our Golden Retriever is Billie. Nice to meet you all!
