Aoraki Mt Cook

Stunning day!  Absolutely stunning.  Spent quite some time sitting and looking at the day, bathed in sunshine and cuddled by Mother Nature.  The temperature apparently got to about 10 degrees.....wow.  Have decided that I will stay at the campsite near Mt Cook village - I've been snuggly warm so far and have no reason to think things will be any different tucked under the Southern Alps.  I just love being in this area.......being here in winter is a new experience and it's certainly nice to have w-a-y fewer people about, though there are still a good few.  At the campground tonight there are about 10 or 12 other campers........in summer the camp would be absolutely chocka with barely any room to move.  There's learning that there's a lot to be said for winter travel!
