Green herons

We caught 20 crabs today and decided to cook them since the creek water is so hot. I picked them out and hubby made 8 crab cakes. And so the filling of the freezer for winter begins. I'd like to put more up this week since it is to hot to do anything outside. The crab catch is way down even for the river crabbers, again it could be the warm water.
We went to the movie Kevin Costner movie Horizon this afternoon. It was pretty good...
This evening I noticed a mother duck and her ducklings swimming in the creek. When I got to the pier they were gone but these two green herons were there. Usually they are alone, I think the far one may be a youngster.
