Sanday (Day 3346)
A stupidly early start to the day so that I could head to town and catch the ferry over to Sanday where I had three pellet burners to deal with. Everything was pretty much as predicted. The fault on the first one was caused by the flue being stuffed full with three starling nests. Last time I serviced it I retrieved the corpses of several starlings and suggested the customer bird proof the end of the flue. Having cleared the nests today I bird proofed the flue.
Next a service on a pellet boiler which I knew would be really easy and quick because the customer always keeps it very clean.
The third job was another boiler service and I was fairly sure that it would be a pain to do as the customers were unlikely to have cleaned it properly. They are sure the cleaning regime wasn't explained, despite having signed the paperwork saying they had been told, and having the manual which tells them how to do the cleaning. Consequently the boiler was full of ash and took a long time to clean out and service. I spent a while explaining again how the programmer works then had a discussion about a bathroom refit.
It seems to have been a fine, sunny day and I stopped between jobs to get a quick snap.
Very glad to get back home to my beautiful wife
