Lune Valley WI Meeting

We had an interesting group WI meeting and I forgot to take any photos, but I did win a raffle prize, so this is my blip. Terrible picture, it’s a scarf. The host invited 5 other WI’s based in the Lune valley to attend. This normally happens once a year, but this was the first post COVID meeting. We had a local farmer speaking to us about the history of his family in this area. A very entertaining speaker. And a delicious buffet.
I went to vote today. For some reason they have cut a chunk out of my old constituency and attached us to one that includes the town of Morecambe, miles away from here with more interest in fishing than hill farming.  I struggle to understand this, we have a very low population, there are no direct links to anywhere in Morecambe and Lunesdale using public transport , and most of the candidates didn’t even visit this distanr corner of the constituency. One of my biggest irritations is that only one of the candidates actually lives in the constituency. Representational democracy in action.
