Gladiolus

I am cheating today with a photo taken yesterday of one of our gladioli which has just started to bloom.  The lawn was too wet - and the day too wet - to get down to the end of the garden today!  It’s a sign of the coolness of this summer, that our hydrangea has had small green buds for weeks - hardly any of which have developed any pink flowers!

Another afternoon of Wimbledon tennis.  Ostapenko’s performance was particularly amazing.  Ukrainian player Svitolina was in tears at the end of her match (which she said that she didn’t know how she won) because of the upset of the children’s hospital being attacked in Kyiv.  She had worn a black ribbon.
