Rest Easy Jim
If a funeral can be terribly sad and wonderfully joyful at the same time then Jim's funeral today fits the bill.
The church was packed with friends; family; colleagues; patients; cyclists; musicians; French conversationalists; salsa dancers and more to pay tribute to the life of this man who lived life to the full. A humble man with a wicked sense of humour and a big heart, 40 years a GP and just a couple of years into his retirement, struck down by an inoperable brain tumour.
Jim's Jazz Band Buddies welcomed us in to his service and played us out; a fine tribute from his eldest daughter; a song from his youngest; readings from his sister; pictures from his life which brought much laughter and words from countless folks from the many aspects of Jim's life.
Rest Easy Jim.
