White Follows Purple

'If you want to see the sun, get up early', seems to be the theme of this non-summer. A big blue sky lasted from dawn until mid-morning. SInce then it has been chilly under a solid blanket of grey, now with drizzle on the wind at almost 5pm.

My white buddleia has begun to open, always following a few days after the more traditional purple one; so far, there are still no butterflies to report.

A technician came today to install a smart meter; I was a bit reluctant to go for one having read that around 1 in 7 is faulty, so not that smart after all, but my gas supplier made it a condition of offering me a more favourable tariff. I'll let you know!
