School photo

Remember the days of the huge school photo? I wonder if they still do them like that.

Last week was the 150th anniversary of my old High School and there was a big event at the school in Plymouth . I only know this because my best friend from school’s sister is involved in the Old Girls’ Association, but she also told me there were lots of photos on Facebook. I don’t use FB these days but curiosity got the better of me so I fired it up to have a snoop. I have lots of photos myself so I loaded them up, including the full school photo from 1978, which I had to upload in four segments. It’s caused a lot of interest, including from one lady whose sister, now sadly deceased, is in the photo. She’d never seen that particular photo before so I’ve sent her some more close-up shots.

It’s been a trip down memory lane, particularly as some of the teachers I thought were absolutely ancient in the late 1970s & early 1980s, were at the reunion - they were probably in their early 30s when I considered them at best middle-aged and at worst decrepit! Time is a funny old thing.
