'Underneath the Arches'

Today I had to drive into Taunton, that's about 13 miles to find civilisation!! It is our county town of Somerset and has all the usual shops, bars, cafes, etc.
It is always very busy, congested, and full of noise, smells etc. Whilst walking back from the sewing shop to the car which I managed to park for free (very rare in Taunton), I came across this unusual passage. It is beside the Methodist Church which fronts onto the main high street opposite Debenhams, the only main store we have.

I have used it several times to get from the side street where I park for free, onto the main centre. As I stood there I could hear the strains of a piano, and next the shuffle of a dancing class. They were tap dancing and oh did it take my mind back to when I was younger. I studied ballet and tap until the age of 15. By then I had met my now husband, very young, I know but when you're in love, age doesn't matter.

I was transported back in time and felt quite tearful. I'm so glad I didn't know how my life would pan out when I was just 15!!

Four sons, and all that has been thrust upon me - but what I have learnt in the process.

Collecting Matthew tomorrow for the Yeovilton weekend. I was worried about rain, but now I have to be prepared for sunburn.

Oh the British weather - so fickle.

Thank you for dropping by. Hope you are not too bored with my usual ranting and if you are ever in the Taunton area just give me a SHOUT!!

Sleep well.
