The wild white roses of summer
I took a short bike ride out onto the Carse of Stirling in the blazing hot sunshine at lunchtime to get some fresh air and have a break from my desk. It was startlingly bright, and probably the warmest day of the year here so far. I found these beautiful dog roses - Rosa canina - flowering in one of the few hedges left out on the Carse. I took away my blipfoto, a memory of two male yellowhammers singing their hearts out ("a-little-bit-of-bread-and-no-cheese"!), and a nasty dose of sunburn on my face! I love the white and gold set against the hedge's green, all topped with cloudless azure blue.
