Summer
No thunder and lightning just heavy rain this morning, however I could see the clouds were breaking up before they left the Atlantic and so hope for some sunshine.
A relaxed start to the day and some washing done and all hanging out on my makeshift clothes line.
By 10:00 the heavy rain had eased off enough for me to head out on my bike.
In the lanes I noticed that summer flowers were starting to bloom and the rosebay willow herb was starting to dominate alongside the meadow sweet. Bees and butterflies were enjoying the warmth in the hedgerows out of the still chilly wind.
Birds were busy dashing to and from their nests feeding their young.
Roadford reservoir was looking full although the car park and cafeteria was certainly not.
I cycled back via some interesting lanes and enjoyed the hills which presented themselves to me.
Nearly back to Amadeus and a plump rabbit had recently been knocked over and so that’s a few meals over the next few days. 100 k in the bank with no issues was rewarding for me.
Paella followed by pancakes with cherry jam and extra thick double cream satisfied my appetite and before I could blink my eyes had closed:))
Hydrangeas and thistles caught my eye, see extras.
