Shark Attack!
Chamomile Shark Moth larva (Cucullia chamomillae) on Scentless Mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum or Tripleurospermum maritimum ssp. inodorum)
At first, I thought the flower had an unusually coloured centre so I went for a closer look and was surprised to find this strikingly coloured caterpillar. Sadly, it will eventually turn into a rather plain brown moth - the chamomile shark moth.
Thanks for the stars yesterday. I thought everyone would be fed-up with burnet moths since in many areas of the UK they hatched a week or so earlier and have featured as blips many times.
