The hedgerows are full of hogweed just now - a plant with an ugly name but which is quite attractive - especially to red soldier beetles, who spend most of their summer mating on the flowers.

I had a specific gardening task which I wanted to complete today. It seemed that every time I went outside to get stuck in, the heavens opened! It took three goes, but I succeeded in the end, and by 4.30, the rain had all passed over, so I went out for a walk.
