Soapbox Derby.

The town's annual event, where vehicles of differing abilities hurtle down the High St. over ramps. Some entrants were impressively fast (1st extra) whilst others clearly entered just for fun, not seeming to mind when they had a serious mechanical (2nd. extra.)
A few seconds after the taking the main, the poor driver crashed, but was able to finish.
3rd extra: Don't drink and drive. 
4th Extra: One vehicle had so many bits falling off it that it had a helper following behind to pick them up. I don't know if the clock, timing their run, stopped when the vehicle got to the end, or when the helper did.
5th Extra: The 1970's pop group, The Carpenters, would you believe. 
6th Extra: Part of an 'Al Crapone' group.
7th Extra: Dr Who's latest Tardis. At the end of the run, the driver had to leap out as it seemed to be smoking rather threateningly. I couldn't see any Daleks though.
