Sunday Sailing

After a concerted morning of housework (it had to be done in preparation of Martin’s dad visiting tomorrow), we watched the Hitchcock classic ‘North by Northwest’ starring Cary Grant, James Mason and Eva Marie Saint. 

I have seen this film and few times and just love the iconic crop spraying and Mount Rushmore scenes, which is further enhanced by Bernard Herrman’s stunning score.  

Coincidentally, it was Eva Marie Saint’s 100th birthday on the 4th of July. Eva is the oldest living and earliest surviving Oscar winner, having won for the 1954 film, ‘On the Waterfront’, which also starred Marlon Brando. 

This afternoon, we saw sea cadets training down by the harbour, before coming back and doing some gardening.
