Signs of the Times

Roistering around with the VIP today. We drove to the Norwalk Aquarium, where we had a fine old time watching sea horses, sea lions, otters, sharks, jelly fish, crabs, sting rays, frogs, and even meerkats! (Not quite sure why meerkats are exhibited in an aquarium, but there they were.)

Driving to and fro, we saw these funny signs:

* Probably the worst possible business name ever: Shock Electrical Contractors. Believe it or not, there is also an electrician nearby called Burns Electric. I think they should form a partnership ... Shock & Burns. When I was a child growing up in England, there was a plumber's business called -- I kid you not -- "Gush & Dent."

* "Speed Hump" (Why do I think "Quickie" when I see this sign?)

* A sign for a lingerie shop, "Pittsfield Bra & Girl" (I wonder how many people wander in looking for a beer and a burger?)

* John Dough's Pizza Bar ... somewhat predictable, but amusing none the less.
