I was playing bowls at Brampton Bowling Club in Cumbria, founded in 1761 and is the oldest bowling club in the world. Last year the team of three I am in won the trophy last year but this year we lost two games so no hope of winning.
Most greens are square or rectangular. This one is very unusual in that at some point in history an area of green was sold and a wall built.
