Paper Round Day

There was a short list of tasks to be achieved today so I wandered down into the village to place my order for a daily newspaper delivery. I was a paperboy back in the day and it was valuable training in getting up for work and also a welcome source of income. Listening for the paper dropping through the door will become part of my daily routine I’m sure. I just need to find out if there is a milk delivery now.

Jobs done, I went for a walk up the hill and stumbled on an old petrol station…well, it’s a farm steading with pumps. It looks so quaint now compared to the branding-fest of a modern filling station.

I reviewed a couple of TV progs on the GE result but there was little to excite me and I retreated to bed with another chapter of Rory Stuart’s new book on politics. Excellent read.
