Chester FC 2 Stockport County 3

It starts again.

My first and Chester's first match of the 2024/25 season. A pre-season friendly against Stockport County who are four divisions higher in League 1. As with all pre-season games there were a lot of changes and the teams that lined up at the start were completely different from the teams that started the 2nd half. 

Chester were 3-0 down at half time but played much better in the 2nd half and scored a couple of goals in what proved to be a surprisingly  entertaining game (Im sure it will be better than the England game tonight). The result was meaningless but it was interesting to see how Chester lined up. 

A couple of the new signings caught the eye and there were two great goals. I didn't take in Chester's first goal because I  was partially distracted by a swallow flying across the pitch. 

It was brilliant to see two female referee assistants and a female fourth official which is something I have never seen before.
