Sarigerme

Last day in Turkey. We had to leave the villa by 2pm and our flight doesn't leave until 11pm. It was very hot today and temperatures in the Weegie household were rising.

No 3 wanted to say goodby to the turtles in the turtle hospital so we stopped off for a late lunch at a roadside restaurant on the way to the Turtle beach. The food was amazing. The Turkish must either hate to cook for themselves or eat out a lot as these little roadside places all serve local dishes that look and taste great. Meals always start with freshly made bread and olives and local cheese. This place is by the river and had hundreds of Terrapins who wait for things to fall from your table. A fork fell from ours...not sure that is what they wanted.

Stinky hot at the beach but we bumped into our new blippers from the mud baths yesterday. I will post a link to their journals when I get home.

The girls wanted to escape to the air con in the car so we drove to nearby Sarigerme. Not far from Dalaman airport. Why do you always find e best places on the last day? This beach had golden sands, and loads of facilities. We need to revisit it soon! Here's No 1 on the beach this evening.

Now we are hanging about the airport using the free wifi. Destination GLW (my brother was a plane spotter! I had to knit him a jumper with the Glasgow Airport call sign on it when he was about 12!).

Then a trip along the M8 in the wee small hours to home. Xxx
