Organised, varied, fresh, orderly

Sadly not my plot, but a neighbour’s.  I think she’s done it beautifully this year.
I got up at 2.30am and watched til 6.30, then went to sleep for a few hours. I was expecting to get on with a few projects and chores, but found myself glued to the rolling news on BBC  - the cars to the palace, the first ( and last) speeches, replays of some very enjoyable moments (Rees-Mogg and Truss especially). Then the speedy formation of the cabinet and a few teeny glimpses of policy priorities. It was 4pm before I even showered and dressed - I don’t think I’ve ever done that before.

Rishi Sunak: “the Labour Party has won this general election, and I have called Sir Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory. Today power will change hands in a peaceful and orderly manner, with goodwill on all sides”

I can honestly say that in 2024 I have learned to be incredibly grateful for this, and I will never take it for granted again.
