Sneaky Blip - The Maypole Inn

Am in work today so there are less opportunities to snap a pic, but this one was taken last Sunday when out having a mini adventure. I thought "Ooh a Phonebox, that'll do for next Phriday" and here we are.

Bimbling back southwards aiming for Sowerby Bridge, Biscuit took me through tiny Warley Town on the outskirts of Halifax. Seeing the K6 Phonebox next to the colourfully signwritten Maypole Inn, I doubled back and snapped a couple of pictures.

Sadly it was a Carron, not a Lion Foundry Phonebox, but interestingly it houses not a Public Telephone nor a Defibrillator or Tiny Library, but a Museum!

It would have been great to take a long stroll inside around all the exhibits but the door was locked so maybe they are closed on a Sunday, despite the 'popular online mapping' showing them as open 24hrs! ;-D

The Maypole was open, serving food and was very busy no doubt doing a good trade in Sunday roast dinners. Biscuit had other ideas though so we continued onwards.

Update: @midgeholedave blipped The Maypole Inn several years ago prior to the phonebox being repurposed & he shared the history of the pubs mural!
