Amazing
When we drove back from Folkestone earlier this week we didn't see any election posters until we arrived home and found this board in our front border. (We had said we were happy about this before we went away)
Stratford-upon-Avon has been one of the safest Tory seats as long as anyone can remember. Our recent MP was Nadhim Zahawi who was really unpopular locally. We didnt think, however, that the Tories could be unseated. Mr Zahawi decided to stand down and an existing Tory MP was parachuted in much to everyone's annoyance.
The Lib Dems sensibly chose a local candidate (Manuela Perteghella) and to our delight and amazement she won the seat with a cracking majority. The turnout of 70% was good too..
Sorry for the little political speech but you can tell how happy we are.
