Dawn at Snell's Beach
I woke in time to see the sky as dawn was breaking. That was followed by a slowish start to the day.
Then Mr H (who had come North to stay with us briefly) and I went down to Southend of Snells Beach. The tide was a long way out, and relatively few birds were on the mudflats. I was able to get quite close to a Tuturiwhatu (New Zealand dotterel) permitting, therefore, an extra photo for today. The alternative common name for the Tuturiwhatu is red-breasted plover.
