Pinky Mint or Minty Pink!

A quieter day with some online marking and the real start of my new work as a Quality Assurance Examiner. I’m still very nervous of accidentally deleting or changing something on the shared ‘live’ excel sheets, which are used by all the QAEs, but I did an hour and a half of monitoring today and think I managed to record everything on the sheets ok. QAEs get allocated a team of examiners every month and we monitor those examiners’ marking of speaking and writing tests. Any tests which we think have been marked out of tolerance are then double checked by a senior examiner, who then contact the examiner if it’s seen to be out of tolerance. I only monitor and don’t have direct contact with examiners, which I’m happy about. It was made super clear that our job isn’t to catch people out, but to ensure fair marking for candidates and examiners are offered extra support if their marking isn’t accurate enough.

The mint plant was bought when I went out to meet Bb in the evening. I don’t have a lot of luck with mint, but buy them with optimism!
