Independence Election Day

Settling in to the US again after a really good time away. Significant events happening in both US and UK whilst we eat a great brisket prepared by Jamie - see extra. Sadly, the US is descending into a dismantling of democracy that could be devastating not only for US citizens but for the wider world. Meanwhile there is some room for hope that sees a change in government. Of course, we don’t know how much difference it might make but given the time difference I was able to listen to Keith Starmer’s speech at 5 am UK time. He certainly said the right things and I’m willing to put cynicism aside to give them a chance to make the difference they promise. We’ll see :)
