Babe In The Woods

A wonderful visit to Knole Deer Park. My problem as always here is choosing my favourite picture from the many. This adorable little one, looking so fragile and vulnerable, was in fact closely watched by mum and very content.

One memorable moment in my day, completely unrelated: I was sitting by the pond, noting the tiny baby fish and dragonfly nymphs. Suddenly one of those nymphs swam to the surface beside me. If poked it's face above the water, slid from it's 'skin' and flew away! I have never seen that and will probably never see it again.  Incredible sight.
