I've been searching to try and find out why it was called this. .. but no such luck.... but it was the former site of a steam engine manufacturer and a jute mill... so that might have had something to do with it. ..

In Kirriemuir a street called " the moon" ... really???
& in Monikie a road called "boysack" .... yup..
