Nursery web spider

I couldn't recognise this spider found on an Azalea with a very fine cocoon type web, so had to check with the internet. Apparently it is very common creating this cocoon to protect its young from predators, not for catching insects as it is a quick and nimble hunter. Interesting mating habit for the male which dices with death in the process. It brings a gift of food for the female and then pretends to be dead. When the female is distracted in examining the food the male seizes his chance and mates with her. It is not clear if he escapes afterwards.
For those for whom spiders is not their thing the extra focusses on the container of Lilies which are nearly all in bloom, and can hardly to be said as being mellow yellow. I though that last year a few were red?
