Kaybees Bits

A Wonky One

The other 5 are okay ...... well - not too bad (I think).
This one was done as an experiment. It is made from a wet, rotting piece of next door's tree and the light bits are the softer sap wood and the darker bits are the heartwood heart wood and more resistant to shrinking, so as it dries it warps (sometimes it also splits - but not this time .... yet). In this piece the heart was even more strangely shaped than in the platter which is why it has gone really wonky.

I finally have my reclining chair back in operation.
It has only taken 3 1/2 months for the motor to arrive.
Luckily the engineer had a power unit in his van .... because the one that had been ordered didn't arrive in the box.

I topped up the pond today.
It has a leak apparently!
It is now back down to roughly the level it was before I topped it up.
Bugger!
Now I have got to try and find out where the leak is and if it is repairable.

EDIT ..... forgot to say we went and voted at 8am this morning - and it is the first time in several voting sessions when the SNP didn't have their campaigners there breaking the rules. The last twice I have reported it to our MP (SNP) and was ignored.
Maybe it was the cold (5C) and intermittent rain that kept them away.

Are we ever going to get anything even resembling summer?
