Elected

Well, I’ve done my civic duty. Just need to wait now to see if the redrawing of the constituency boundaries has enabled the Tories to gain Westmorland and Lonsdale from the Lib Dems. Despite a plethora of names on the ballot paper, it is going to be a straight fight between those two parties, which is probably why they were the only ones with representatives outside the polling station trying to glean an idea of which way people were planning to vote.
I’m off out to a Blackadder rehearsal soon, but should be back in time to watch the election results coverage. Will it be the expected Labour super majority? I agree it’s time for a change, but can’t help feeling we may just be swapping the frying pan for the fire.
As ours is a large, predominately rural, constituency, it will probably not be until around 3am before the result is declared. Whether or not I’m still awake then, most likely depends on how exciting/boring the previous results have been.
Tomorrow is another day…
