Celebrate!
Bee balm always reminds me of fireworks - such festive flowers and much loved by pollinators and hummingbirds...and hummingbird clearwing moths (H. thysbe). I have not seen many clearwing moths this summer so when I spotted this one in the bee balm, I shot inside and got a camera and started firing off shots. I like this one for many reasons and decided that it would my "one" shot for the day. A shot to celebrate a few things...
On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed and the United States of America became a country.
On this day in 2021, a brindle puppy was born in shelter in Texas, one of nine. He was named Jax Lonestar and he eventually moved with most of his litter mates to a rescue in New Jersey. As you know, he became a beloved member of our family several months later.
And if I am not mistaken, today marks 13 years on Blipfoto for me. I've not missed a day although I've come perilously close a few times. I've loved being a part of this kind, creative community and have made so many dear friends here. I've shared real-world adventures with some of you, memories for a lifetime. I may occasionally skip a day going forward but I don't plan to leave this lovely community as long as I can hold a camera and write a few words every day. Thank you.
