I popped into Shipley Station Meadow on my way way back from work and found a few of these Narrow-bordered Five-spot Burnet moths, along with a few Ringlet butterflies.

It was an intense start to the week with two full days of all-staff  professional development, of which I led three sessions today. That more or less brings the academic year to a close though, so things will quieten down a bit for a month or so.

And as the 23/24 academic year winds down, the 24/25 football pre-season got underway. I started to unwind from my day by walking across the valley to watch Thackley and Barnoldswick Town contest a fairly feisty friendly. It finished 2-3, and at this time of the year still plenty of light to walk back through the woods at 9.30pm after the game,
