Antiques

Sneaky afternoon off work and headed to Thirlestane Castle with tix for Antiques Show. Very interesting watching how they film it, and did our best to dodge the cameras so hopefully no evidence of being there.
I brought my grandmother’s eternity which I was sure was worth a tidy fortune. Got in the queue which was far shorter than I thought , readied my poker face for the ‘do you know what it a worth?’ And calmly waited for expert Joanna Hardy. My turn, she got her loupe out, platinum, sapphires, rubies diamonds, ching ching ching went my head, as I wasn’t sure if the ring was costume jewellery, nope it was real, a Night and Day ring, very beautiful from the 1920s … oooh exciting….
£800-1000
Ah, won’t retire then .
Hahah worth a try, shame as it’s very beautiful but so tiny won’t fit anyone and sits in a drawer. It deserves to wear worn and has the price been right I’d have considered it but the value was not worth losing it, so back in the drawer it goes.
