Life through the lens...

Spuds.

Today started with us saying “Farewell “ to a very special lady.
The funeral at her local Methodist Church, just across the road from where they lived, was very well attended.
S was a very kind and thoughtful person. Who did good without making any fuss.
It was a lovely service and nice to meet up afterwards with friends and acquaintances for refreshments at a local hotel.
Some people we hadn’t seen since our teens. As you can imagine there was a lot of reminiscing. Happy memories and laughter.
I’m not sure if one should enjoy a funeral but I think today most people did, and it would have been how S wanted it to be.
Although sad it was also a happy occasion.

We just got home in time to see Mark Cavendish win his record breaking stage of Le Tour.
I could hardly bear to watch the final few minutes.
A truly remarkable win. So very pleased that after all his setbacks he has finally done it. A record breaking 35 stage wins of the Tour de France, and at the age of 39 too.

We then decided to turn the first bag of potatoes out. 3lbs 10ozs. Not bad from 3 potatoes, but a few ounces down on last year.
However they should taste good.

A while later we had a surprise visit from Jude, Leo and family.
The whirlwind has just left!
After playing with the cars, and doing the Thomas jigsaw several times it was the pebbles and shells he brought down from upstairs.
I had to make sure Leo was kept out of the way as he puts most things in his mouth.

We finished up on the swing seat outside. Jude wanted to go higher to reach the clouds!
Needless to say we didn’t manage it.
Jude had been to his new nursery school yesterday and enjoyed it so much he didn’t want to come home.
He starts full time in September.
How time flies. They seem to grow up so quickly.

So we have had a very mixed day but totally enjoyable.
