Archie goes to town again
I awoke to the realisation that I really should check up on the actual cost of a cataract operation. I could have to wait two or three months, and that thought is very depressing. This cataract is really bad, and affects my sight/daily life drastically. Even when wearing my specs, I can’t see the ball in tennis, or indeed in the football! If I don’t wear my specs when I’m out, things are pretty hazy.
I took the plunge last year and went private for a steroid injection in my back. It didn’t work, but it was worth the gamble.
And so, I’m going for an initial, no obligation consultation, on Friday.
Continuing the saga of our vast stash of money in Virgin Money… I spent the whole morning trying to log in to my account, getting lots of OTPs (One Time Passwords), changing my password many times, getting quite far, then ‘Oops, something has gone wrong!’ Many many times the OTPs failed to arrive. And this was before JR even attempted hers. We decided to go back down the bank and insist that THEY do it.
And so we all went back to the VM bank, and we even got a coffee this time in the rather nice upstairs lounge. A very nice woman came and helped us log in on their iPads. And yes, even she got frustrated and had to keep repeating steps, backtracking, requesting yet another OTP. Eventually we closed our accounts successfully.
