I was booked onto a walk with my Ramblers group, the One Step Walkers, and I gave Rhian a lift as she doesn't particularly like driving. Rhian (pictured in red in my blip) was diagnosed with breast cancer in one breast 3 weeks ago, but the MRI scan detected lumps in the other breast too and now she's in limbo, having to wait, not knowing what her treatment will be, although she expects a double mastectomy :-(

We journeyed to Chatsworth Garden Centre where the walk began, talking about everything, both crying, I really feel for her. She's divorced, has two children aged late teens/early twenties, her ex-husband is supportive but she still feels so utterly alone. I hope I helped with chat, ideas and humour.

The walk itself was lovely, I really enjoyed it and also hope I've made another friend. She lives quite near and we seem to have quite a lot in common. Here's hoping because you can't have too many friends!
