Two Lions
I had an appointment in my mother's bank this morning, and went for a stroll through the city centre afterwards.
I don't think I have blipped this old lion before. I am allowed to call it "old", because it's from 1753.
This golden lion sits on top of the Marktbrunnen (Market fountain) in Wiesbaden's central square, and holds this curious coat of arms in its paws - a combination of the city's symbol of three fleurs-de-lis, and another lion on the coat of arms of the House of Nassau, which ruled here when the fountain was constructed.
