Harold Wilson

MrM drove us into Huddersfield late afternoon to meet Lucy, my daughter, from her train. She messaged as we parked to say that - surprise, surprise - the train was late, so we had a brief wander around the town, passing the statue of Harold Wilson as we walked back towards the station. We'd arranged to meet her at the Head of Steam, the pub right next to the station, so we enjoyed a drink before heading home for a meal. A lovely relaxed evening catching up with Lucy's news.

Born in Huddersfield, Harold Wilson was a Labour Party politician who was Prime Minister twice, from 1964 to 1970 and 1974 to 1976. He was founder of the Open University.
