Serenity in the city
Yesterday was a LONG day! After a long day of site seeing and despite being jet lagged, we decided to participate in Prague's club scene. Which included staying out until the early morning (the scene doesn't start until midnight here....WAY past my usual bedtime) listening and dancing to mind numbing trance music with people a decade younger than us....
On our way home last night we made a plan to wake up early (as the guide books suggest) and walk across Charles Bridge when it was less crowded. And to my surprise, when the alarm went off at 6am, a mere 4 hours after going to bed, we were up- ready to go! It may have been one of the best suggestions we've gotten so far. After experiencing the crowds yesterday, it was nice to wander through the streets as the city still slept. It was absolutely serene, which is usually not the adjective that comes to mind when describing a city like Prague. As an added bonus, we were able to get amazing pictures on the bridge! The picture I posted is on the Charles Bridge. You can see Lesser Town to the left, where Prague Castle and St. Nicholas church are located.
Today's agenda- exploring Lesser Town and taking paddle boats on the Vltava River- should be interesting!
