Morning

The line on the horizon that you can barely see is the municipal wharf, and there is a sailboat to the right of that. This lovely fog starts the day, and will burn off in a couple hours, but we have that time for a walk and maybe a little gardening. Dire heat warnings are projected for the next week, even here at the coast. Today’s bulletin even cautioned us to watch out for “heat refugees,” inland folks who may be driving over here in great gridlocking hordes to escape their three digit temperatures. There are also cautions about fireworks, which is a bigger worry than increased traffic. I’d like to think we could rely on common sense during a hot dry spell, but that hasn’t gotten us very far in the past.

The plant has been identified as Limonium, or sea lavender.
