Miniature chase

Fly on a leaf of lily of the valley on sunny weather, after rain.

I took a walk in forest, and noticed a large beetle on ground. I started observing and photographing it. Soon it was attacked by a couple of ants and could've experienced the fate of this little fellow. The beetle, however, managed to escape. Though one ant had still a tight hold from its bottom and tried to slow it down by grabbing leaves, sticks, needles or anything it could get a hold with its rear legs.

One or two more times more the beetle was attacked by a couple of ants, but managed to shake them off. The beetle walked around and around within an area of about one sq metre for about 10 minutes, trying to shake off the ant hanging from its ass. Eventually the ant fell of and the beetle escaped.
