Day 12 - Central Park
This is the New York Skyline looking East over the Jackie Onasis Kennedy Reservoir to the Upper East Side.
After a hearty New York breakfast, we headed north up to around 48th street for KT to go visit a number of specialist ballet shops.
The boys decided not to hang around and headed up another 10 blocks to Central Park. There we hired bikes (exercise!) to cycle round the park for a couple of hours. The park is pretty huge!
We stopped of for some pics at the Guggenheim which was nearly an alternate Blip, but that was too obvious.
We met up with the girls mid afternoon, and jumped back on the bus tour that we abandoned yesterday to do the Upper Manhattan route.
This passed up Central Park West, past The Dakota where John Lennon was shot and Yoko Ono still lives.
Past the American Museum of Natural History where "Night at the Museum was set.
Heading further north to the Cathedral of St John the Divine which is allegedly the largest Cathedral in the Western Hemisphere?
Then a tour round Harlem and the Apollo Theatre where it was Amateur Night as usual every Wednesday.
Back down the East Side of Central Park, past the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Finishing up in Times Square.
Dinner was at Guys American Kitchen and Bar. This guy is an American Celebrity Chef on the Food Channel's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". Guess what I had! Mac and Cheese :)
We wandered round Times Square a bit soaking up the atmosphere a bit, then called it a day.
P.S. I Hope that's enough links for Goretex?
