If this lovely horse looks familiar, that's because it sort of is.  The Kelpies are famous around the world, or a least around Scotland, for Andy Scott's monumental steel art, and this piece is also by him, using the same technique of little, randomly shaped pieces of steel, welded together.

It's called "Canter" and was unveiled in May 2018.  It was commissioned by The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.  Based for over a century in Edinburgh, the Dick Vet – named for its founder, William Dick – moved out to Bush a little over 20 years ago.  It caters for both small and large animals, horses especially.  You often see them grazing in the large fields to the south, presumably recuperating from whatever ailed them.
