Marjorie's ramblings

On my walk

I thought I would blip the meadowsweet as it emerges for another season, but I was too taken with this hogweed. It seems such an ugly name for the plant, although the perfume is certainly like that of pigs........

The flowers are so intricate and beautiful, that they amaze me.

My extra is taken in a field of barley. It is growing well and today's rain will have helped it along.

I walked late in the afternoon. I'd done a quick Aldi shop in the morning. You feel that you have to move quickly in Aldi to get all your goods into your shopping bags ahead of the assistant. (It's a battle every time, but I like it there.)

Margret called and had coffee and a chat.

I had listened to Nigel Farage on Times Radio this morning. He can be so coherent and plausible that I had to keep reminding myself of what he stands for!

Later I listened to Andrew Neal who had an interesting perspective on the current state of the election.

Then it was tennis with the first match of the men's and women's singles.

My walk was sandwiched between. It was fresh and delightful.

I knitted a baby hat during the indoor activities. Easy to do without looking too often and rather nice to be knitting again.

I split toned the barley. It's Mark Littlejohn's go to edit, but I'm not sure. I guess it depends what you want to show.
