Leafcutter Ants

Today, after a breakfast of bread, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, the three engineers I met in the queue for the bus and I rented mountain bikes and went for a ride to Puyo from Baños. It's beautiful countryside around here, mountains covered with rainforest leading to rivers and waterfalls, with clouds dotted around the hillsides. Sadly, that means there's lots of hills! And rain!

We got a bit lost and didn't make it to Puyo, ending up stopping for lunch after 6 hours in a small town with a military airbase. We had Chinese food and then flagged down a bus with our bikes to go back to Baños, which was interesting as the bus was full and so I sat in the front next to the driver. This was alarming. He overtook lots of other buses on nice blind corners, as well as driving with no hands. Anyway, we got back safely and I'm (the only one) covered in mystery bites!
