Not as Scottish.

       Ask an Englishman the common name for a Hedge Accentor (Hedge Sparrow) and, if he knows, he'll probably say  "a Dunnock".  Ask a Scot, or a Cumbrian (Can't vouch for Geordies etc.) and we'll say "a Blue Dykie"
HOWEVER
       I've just checked to see what "them up there" call a Chaffinch; and it is NOT "a Scoppie" which we grew up calling them, it's "a Shelfie" says the Internet.  B T W - they. also say a Goldfinch is a "Gold shelfie"
