Birthday of Ashling

Long term tennis competitor and friend.

But she has Covid (it’s back).

We had planned a ‘First Day of Wimbledon’ lunch party but had to change our plans.

So we brought the food, cakes, drinks to her patio

Her darling husband came out all masked up and took the platter into her and we had a party of sorts.

He set up a screen outside for us and she watched from inside.

I brought the party cake and buns made by Fiona Cairns. And we had chicken Kiev, potato salad (with borage) and a pasta gorgeous thing. Her husband supplied champagne (but once again I’m driving them all home) so I had my favourite tipple … pint glass, half pineapple juice, half sparkling water with a dash of pure lime juice. (Try it, it’s perfect).

Weather in Dublin - hot damn awful. Hope it’s better in London and that rain does not stop play.
